. this is the bay area's news station, kron 4 news at 11:00 starts now. an 11-year-old daly city boy has been reunited with his father at the daly city police department after he went missing on friday. . >> tears were streemg down hanzu wren's face as he explained why he didn't return home on sunday and never called his father to let him know he was okay. the 11-year-old says he was spriedz when he saw police officers at his friend's house looking for him.

>> i'm sorry about this. i feel sad about my dad not finding me. i forgot to tell him. i just don't like want to know. >> daly city investigators say they worked around the clock to find wren since his father reported him missing on sunday at 9:00 p.m., two days after he was last seen at his school policy to middle school. sergeant michael barton says wren didn't have a cell phone, and the boy told his dad he was going to spend the night at a friend's house over the weekend but ended up going to a different friend's home without telling his father. >> our detectives have been work on stop work lead after lead after lead and what they found was another child that was a friend of his that lived in the same area and they went to that location and found him with his other friend. >> wren promises to never

disappear again without telling his father where he's going. >> i will never go outside again. >> in daly city, kron 4 news. new tonight at 11:00 omar ben gentleman min is retierg from his post as executive director to have port of oakland. this comes amidst investigation into the reimbursement practices of some of the port's officials. the ports' maritime director are just two members of a group which wracked up $4,005 hun in strip clubs in texas. the information continues as some feel the strip club incident may really be just the tip of the iceberg. at this point deborah flint, the port's director of aviation, has taken over ben gentleman min's position. new tonight in 11:00, authorities in marin county are investigating what caused an elderly man to crash his truck through a guardrail and into the reservoir. rescue crews tried to get the

man out but he died at the scene. no word on what cause it had man to lose control but witness say he was swerving before that crash. the founder of the anti virus giant macafee incorporated is on run tonight after being named as a person of interest in the death of a fellow expatriot in central america. selling his name sake company for $100 million, john mcafee has been living in belize. earlier this year his home was raid bid drug agents. no charges were filed and the local media report thad he later made e will be rat gifts to the local police. now, he has been indicate and had indicted in the death of another american, this man gregory foul who whose body was found on saturday night. a housekeeper discovered body in a hallway of his home with a gunshot wound to the back of his head. authorities investigating the homicide are speaking to another

person as they pursue multiple leesd, a laptop computer and cell phone are missing from home. mcafee is still at large. a microsoft window shakeup, the president of windows and windows live operations is leaving the company. steven is stepping down just weeks after the company launches windows 8. the company did not give a reason as to why sinofski is leaving. company veteran jew gee lar son green will take over his responsibilities for the time being. a live look outside this evening where we are still seeing clear skies around most of the bay area including the north bay, which is allowing temperatures to drop off at this hour, but clouds are expected to increase, which will keep temperatures still a little warm than what we saw last night. chilly in nevada with 41 degrees, 44 in val val -- that's going to be mainly low 40s away

from the coastline. again t clouds i just mentioned are expected to increase to the north overnight and increase even more tomorrow afternoon but we're still going to see warmer temperatures tomorrow than what we saw today. i'll tell you about that plus rain in the extended forecast coming up. new developments keep unfolding in the david patrais resignation scandal. tonight the pentagon is now investigating the top commander in afghanistan, general john allen, for e-mails to the woman that patrais had an affair with. the fallout from the investigation that led to the sudden resignation of the cia director continues to grow. the investigation into the threatening e-mails from patrais mistress had apparently been going on for months and as emily smith reports some members of congress are upset that they were not alerted sooner. >> mie i don't go fer paw la broad well wrote the book about retired general david patrais. >> i think the values he upholds and trys to instill in his

organizations are valuable and worth pointing out. >> but the back story led to the cia director's down fall. >> the affair started approximately two months after he was in the cia and ended about four months. >> told the director of national intelligence about the affair with broadwell on election day. some members of congress questioned the timing as the fbi had been investigating longer. health majority leader spokesman say it is congressman learned of the fbi involvement in october. the investigation stemmed from patrais family-friend jewel kelly who told the fbi she received e-mails she viewed as threat sxng jealous. it was tracked to paw la broadwell. patrais was never the investigation's target. there is another timing matter. patrais was scheduled to testify before congress this week about the consulate attack in labia. this video showed broad well speaking about the attack shortly after it happened.

that's when a total solar eclipse will take place. unfortunately it will not be visible from the bay area, but you can watch it online. the eclipse will be most visible from australia where it will cast a 100-mile-wide shadow, totality darkness that happens at the peak of the eclipse is at about 12:30 tomorrow afternoon and will last just over two minutes. halo 4 is a huge hit with gamers in the first 24 hours of its release the game racked up sale of more than $220 million around the world. think about it this way. last year's state opening beat the record for the biggest one-day opening in u.s. box office history. that was harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2. halo 4 was developed exclusively for microsoft xbox 360. and one of the year's most anticipated games is due to come out tonight at midnight. that game is call of duty block

little bit of cloud coffer out there, especially for the north bay. let's take a look outside right now. satellite radar picture clouds are approaching the north bay courtesy of a storm up to the north. well, the rain is going to stay to the north but you can see the clouds already starting to push into the north bay and they're going to continue to do that into the overnight hours. notice the pran staying well to the north, though. as we move into the afternoon the rain and the clouds will lift to the north so we'll see clearer skies by the 4:00 hour. as for temperatures overnight it's going to be a tough call because right now we're seeing clear skys and temperatures are dropping pretty dramatically into the low 40s. i'm expecting a few 30s out there fairfield, vallejo, san ra fall. once the clouds start to fill into the north bay we won't see additional cooling. in the afternoon more sunshine expected down into the south bay so warmer temperature there is. back into the 70s in sunny vail and san jose but upper 60s in

portions of the north bay. 65 in san francisco, 66 in oakland. a look at your extended forecast, again warmer out there tomorrow, warmer even still on wednesday, but into thursday and friday and the weekend, temperatures are going to cool back down, a series of systems bringing rain to the bay area starting on friday into early saturday. another one on sunday. it looks like heavy rain could be in store for monday. we'll keep you posted. new at 11:00, the credit reporting agency transunion says that the percentage of mortgage holders at least two months behind on their payments fell in the third quarter to 5 and a half percent. that is the lowest point in more than three years. the mortgage de link win si rate has not been this low since the first quarter of 2009, still, though, it does remain well about the 1 to 2%, which is the historical average. well, today, of course, is veteran's day, a time when the nation pauses to thank those in the military who have serve and had are serving our country.

appropriately time to open on veteran's day a new apartment complex for homeless veterans opened in san francisco. veterans common social security located on o tis street. the community is meant for single homeless veterans who have a disability, mental or physical. the residents must bay 30% of their income towards rent. each room has a kitchen, bathroom, and closet. there will be support service, as well, for those who live there, and the vets we talked with are grateful for this brand new place to call home. >> can't wait to move in. i was very happy to find out that this particular building was going residential, and as soon as i heard that, i wanted a place. >> we care about each other, and it's going to be good in a group environment like this and live together. it geesd. >> 75 residents will be moving in over the next couple of weeks. the developers want to end veteran homelessness. money to build this facility came from the state, the city, and from private funds. well, happy birthday to the bay bridge.

the bridge is 76 years old today. this is video taken when the bay bridge first opened back in 1936, six months before the golden gate bridge. it was designed by charles purcell and built by the american bridge company. among those in attendance for the opening of the bridge 76 years ago, the former u.s. president herbert hoover, senator william mechanic due and the governor of california. bay bridge was the largest and most expensive brej of its time and now the new eastern span of the bridge is set to open at the end of 2013. in sports tonight, monday night football goes into overtime. the steelers quarterback ben roth lis berger leaves the game and stadium with an injury. and the 49ers face the immediate future with the possibility that quarterback alex smith may be out after sufrg a concussion in yesterday's game. gary's next with that story and all the sports [ female announcer ] welcome, one and all,

. all right. everybody, alex smith watch is on. if you believe the 49ers, his concussion didn't happen on this helmet-to-helmet hit in the first quarter. smith stayed in the game. late in the second quarter, smith was hit in the head again on a quarterback sneak. gym har baa said that's when the concussion happened. smith stayed in the game finishing the drive going three for three.
